Academics

The Department of Civil Engineering offers a broad-based undergraduate B. Tech. degree programme. A dual-degree (B. Tech.-M. Tech.) programme is also run in Structural Engineering. Postgraduate M. Tech. (admissions through GATE/ Sponsorships) and Ph. D. (admissions through selections/ sponsorships) programmes are offered in the following five specializations:

  1. Structural Engineering
  2. Geotechnical Engineering
  3. Water Resources Engineering
  4. Remote Sensing
  5. Transportation Systems Engineering
  6. Ocean Engineering

In each academic year, about 60 students will be admitted to the B. Tech and 20 in the dual degree programme. About 60 M. Tech. students will be admitted in the above specializations in each year. Each year about 20 research scholars will be admitted for doctoral programme during Autumn and Spring semesters.
