IIT Bombay-FedEx Center for Advanced Logistics and Focused Analytics (FedEx ALFA) is conducting a two-day sponsored workshop on Port Operations and Logistics in association with Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority and Mumbai Port Authority. India's port operations are central to moving bulk commodities and containerised trade, linking manufacturing clusters with global markets. Major ports focus on berth productivity, mechanised handling, dredging for deeper drafts, and smarter gate and yard planning to cut vessel and truck turnaround time. Logistics performance depends on seamless hinterland connectivity — rail, road, coastal shipping and inland waterways.
