THE CONFERENCE

 

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, Mumbai and Indian Society for Hydraulics (ISH) are organizing "Hydro-2012": Conference on Hydraulics, Water Resources, Coastal and Environmental Engineering, on December 7-8, 2012.  The “Hydro-2012” conference represents a link in the chain of such "Hydro" conferences organized annually in India over a period of last two decades under the auspices of Indian Society for Hydraulics.  The special theme of the conference being held at IIT Bombay this year will be “Hydro-informatics”. The conference would provide a forum for presentation and exchange of knowledge and research experience gained in the field of hydraulics, water resources, coastal and environmental engineering by scientists, academicians, practicing engineers and consultants.

OBJECTIVE OF THE CONFERENCE

The objective of the conference is to bring together engineers / scientists working in various aspects of water related engineering including planning, design, construction, and, maintenance, with a view to share experiences through posters, papers and invited lectures.

 
DATE AND VENUE

The Conference will be held on December 7-8, 2012 at Victor Menezes Convention Center,  (VMCC), Indian Institute of Technology (I I T) Bombay,  Mumbai – 400 076. The detailed program will be made available on Institute’s website (www.civil.iitb.ac.in/~hydro2012) and ISH website (www.e-ish.net).

CALL FOR PAPERS

Technical papers on the mentioned themes are invited. Interested authors are requested to submit full length paper not exceeding 8 pages on A-4 size paper as per the guidelines enclosed. The full length papers are to be submitted to the Organizing Secretary by August 31, 2012, electronically only as email attachment (Microsoft WORD file in the given Paper template) to hydro2012@civil.iitb.ac.in  and  hydro2012iitb@gmail.com.

Extended versions of the selected papers presented in the conference may be published in ISH Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, Taylor and Francis, UK.

REGISTRATION

The Registration Fee is as under:
Contributing authors and ISH members                                 : Rs. 3000/-
Delegates (Central Govt./State Govt./Academic Institutes)  : Rs. 4000/-
Delegates (Public Enterprises/ Private Companies)                : Rs. 5000/-
Students                                                                                  : Rs. 2000/-

The Registration Fee provides for conference proceedings (full papers in CD & hard copy of abstract volume), registration kit, working lunches and tea/coffee during the Conference. Prospective participants desirous of attending the Conference are requested to fill in the enclosed Registration Form and mail the same along with Registration Fee before October 15, 2012. Registration fees should be sent by D.D. in favour of “HYDRO – 2012”, payable at Mumbai at the address given below.

Sponsorship Cheques/ DD to be drawn in favor of “The Registrar, IIT Bombay” and send to the following address. (Note: According to the category of Sponsorship, a few free registrations and opportunity for advertisement/exhibition space will be extended for the sponsors.)

Accommodation: Limited number of shared accommodation will be available in IIT Guest House, Students Hostels and nearby Institute Guest Houses on payment basis, on request and on first-come-first-served basis. The participants are encouraged to get accommodation by themselves in the nearby Hotels (possible list of hotels will be displayed in the website later).
