Mr. Debdata
Mandal completted his under graduation from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in
2010. Thereafter, he joined IIT Bombay for M.tech in Structural Engineering. In
2012, he converted M.tech to Ph.D.
His research work encompasses theoretical, numerical and experimental studies on
both linear and nonlinear wave/vibration-damage interactions in plate like
structures.
The fundamental contributions of
Mr. Debadatta mandal's
research work are- disbond detection in stiffened aluminum plate with
the help of nonlinear guided wave propagation, overt type damage (e.g.,
narrow through hole or, slit) detection in aluminium plate with the help
of linear guided wave propagation, and disbond detection using different
mode shape based techniques (e.g., Fractal Dimension, Wavelet
Coefficient, Gapped Smoothing, etc.). Both contact (using surface
mounted PZT wafers) and noncontact (using Laser Doppler Vibrometer)
sensing techniques have adopted in the experiment.
