Mr. Joy Pal completed his Diploma in Civil Engineering from A P C Ray Polytechnic College, Kolkata in 2005. After that, in 2009, he completed under graduate from Jalpaiguri Govt. Engg. College. In 2011, he completed M.Tech in Structural Engineering from IIT Guwahati. He joined IIT Bombay in 2011 as a Research Scholar.

His research area is vibration based health monitoring of structures. In his dissertation, he identified the damage at connections. Mr. Pal carried out  extensive numerical and experimental studies in order to estimate the damage at connections.
