Speaker: Dr. Renata Archetti,Associate Professor in Hydraulics, DICAM - University of Bologna, Italy. Date: May 26, 2017 Time: 11 am - 12:00 noon Venue: Seminar Hall, First floor, Civil Department Title of proposed Talk: Research activity on Ocean and Coastal Engineering at University of Bologna. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Short Abstract: *************** The recent activity on coastal and ocean engineering will be presented mainly focused on wave structures interaction, floating body modeling applied to the design of energy production from the sea; marine pollution. All the applications will regard mostly the Mediterranean Sea conditions. Short biodata of the speaker: **************************** Dr. Renata Archetti holds a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. She has performed research in the field of Environmental and Coastal Hydraulics for over 20 years gaining extensive experimental and numerical experience. Her fields of interest are: coastal hydrodynamics and morphodynamics, pollution in coastal areas, innovative technology for the sea monitoring, design of marine structure, risk analysis of extreme events, assessment of resources for renewable energy (wind waves mini hydro) and concept design of wave energy converter. She is professor of Ocean and Coastal Engineering for the International Master Program in Offshore Engineering at the University of Bologna and of Hydraulics for Civil Engineering.
