Department of Civil Engineering

The Regional Centre for Geodesy (RCG) at IIT Bombay stands as a pivotal hub for advanced research, education, and innovation in the dynamic field of Geodesy. Our mission is to contribute significantly to the understanding of Earth's shape, gravity field, and rotation, and their variations over time. We leverage cutting-edge technologies like GNSS, Satellite Altimetry, and Remote Sensing to address critical challenges in areas such as crustal deformation monitoring, sea level change, precise positioning, and infrastructure development.

At RCG, we are committed to fostering a vibrant academic environment, nurturing the next generation of geodetic scientists and engineers. Through collaborative projects with national and international agencies, we aim to translate our research into impactful solutions that serve societal needs and advance scientific knowledge.
