Project 9 - Yogesh M Desai
- To initiate the development of a finite element based computational package helpful in the structural analysis and design of IPWR.
- This proposal accompanies the proposal for establishing a Centre for Computational Engineering and Science at IIT Bombay. The proposed Centre is envisaged to serve as a central facility for the analysis and design of nuclear and allied structures, and high-end computational engineering in general.
- It is proposed to develop pre-processor and post-processor for modeling and visualization needs for ease in finite element analysis and design.
- Required interfaces between pre-processor, post-processor, finite element analysis as well as design modules will be developed for facilitating seamless experience.
Objectives :
- Ist Year: Compilation of basic element types, particularly those necessary for piping analysis, standardization of input and output parameters, development of solver for linear analysis.
- IInd Year: Integration of pre-processor and post-processor with solver, further development of solver for dynamic analysis.
- IIIrd Year: Design related studies based on post-processed output, generation of technical manuals and verification manuals.
Deliverables :
