7. SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
a) Computer based Highway Economic Investment and Analysis Model (HEIAM) has been developed and successfully used for certain highway projects of Ministry of Shipping and Transport ensuring MOST a World Bank Loan of about Rs. 400 crores. In a circular No. RH/NH III/COORD/86/84 dated 17th September, 1984 issued by Govt. of India, Ministry of Shipping and Transport (Roads wing) all State PWD Chief Engineers dealing with NH's, they have been made aware of this model developed at IIT, Delhi and suggested to make use of the model for projecting highway and bridge projects for the purpose of economic evaluation.
b) Model Development for Depot Augmentation Problem has been completed. Depot Augmentation Program (DAP) software has been developed for `Determination of Optimal Augmentation Plan for Depots to Starting Points of Routes to minimize the total expenditure over planning horizon'. The software has been utilised for D.T.C. network.
c) Routing and Scheduling of Urban Bus Transit Network.
