Industrial By-products (IBPs) for Sustainable Infrastructure Development

Dr. Raji, is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) at IIT Bombay since January 2018 her current research lies at the intersection of policy, technology and circular economy. Through her research, she is working towards conceptualizing solutions required to implement the Solid Waste Management Rules (SWM) 2016 and address first-mile issues pertaining to waste segregation of the municipal solid waste fractions such as menstrual waste ( biohazardous) , packaging waste (recyclables and organic waste. She believes that emergent technologies such as blockchain, AI, IoT can facilitate the transition towards the adoption of circular economy as well as mainstream the informal sector ( waste pickers) as well as close existing gaps pertaining to the absence of reliable data and the implementation of the extended producer responsibility (EPR) guidelines. She is also associated with the “Mission IBP†project since May 2020. Industrial by products or IBP’s are a big area of concern given their huge quantum and the adverse implications associated with their improper disposal. She is over 25 years of l work experience across various sectors such as : banking, IT industry, education , entertainment , NGO and has worked with ANZ Grindlays Bank ( now Standard Chartered), CNN Time Warner (Atlanta, USA) , Symbiosis International University and BAIF Her doctoral work was published by Emerald Publishing U.K in 2017.(https://books.emeraldinsight.com/page/detail/The-Role-of-Microfinance-in-WomenThe-Role-of-Microfinance-in-Womens-Empowerment/?k=9781787144262 ).
