CCUS Project

Dr. Ajendra Singh is a seasoned researcher with a focus on the subsurface flow phenomenon. He obtained his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Gandhinagar in 2023. Before this, he completed his M.Tech in Petroleum Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology in 2013, He obtained his BSc Engg. in Mechanical Engineering from Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra, in 2011. His expertise spans diverse areas, including reservoir characterization, reservoir modeling, and core flooding experiments and numerical simulation. His professional experience includes roles as a Domain Expert for a Research Project on Geoscientific Data Interpretation in Kutch and Saurashtra Basin, a joint project between the Directorate General of Hydrocarbon, Govt of India and PDEU, Gandhinagar, and also as a Consultant Research Scientist at EMC India Pvt. Ltd. Ahmedabad, India. His strong commitment to advancing the research is demonstrated through high impact factor journal publications. As a Project Scientist at IIT Bombay, he has been actively involved in pioneering research, specifically focusing on a project that explores the complex dynamics of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) applications. He is primarily involved in creating and implementing core flooding experiments to gain a thorough understanding of the impact of CO2 in deep saline aquifers. In addition, he offers essential technical support in analyzing the chemical process of calcite dissolution in carbonate reservoirs in the Western Indian Onshore gas field. He is also working on understanding the geomechanical reaction to stress and pressure changes in subsurface formations found in gas and oil fields. By utilizing numerical simulations in CMG reservoir simulators, particularly GEM and STAR, I establish a connection between laboratory-scale geochemical and geomechanical investigations and their practical implementation on a larger field scale. The complex nature of this project highlights his proficiency in reservoir engineering and demonstrates his dedication to promoting sustainable energy alternatives.
