Some Studies on CCUSGeetanjali Kishan Lohar has completed her M.Tech. Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Agartala in 2020, where she focused on the ‘Application of Metaheuristic Algorithms in Civil Engineering.’ During her postgraduate studies, she explored the application of various optimization techniques, including Differential Evolution, Particle Swarm Optimization, and Genetic Algorithm, for slope stability analysis and the design of retaining walls. She has submitted Ph.D. thesis (January 2025) to the Department of Civil Engineering, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat. Her doctoral research related to the studies on ‘Analysis of Time-Dependent Behaviour of Tunnels in Rock Mass,’ with a specific emphasis on Himalayan tunnels in squeezing ground conditions. Her work examined the complex deformation patterns around the tunnel under anisotropic stress conditions, analyzing the creep behaviour. By integrating field data with advanced finite element numerical modeling, her work provides valuable insights into the load-transfer mechanisms of tunnel support structures in visco-elastic perfectly plastic mediums, contributing to the development of safer and more efficient tunnel designs in rock mass. |
