Investigations of Gas Hydrate Dissociation and Formation

Dr. Randeep Ravesh is a Project Research Scientist at IITB with expertise in clathrate hydrates for energy and environmental applications. He earned his MTech and Ph. D from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, where his doctoral work focused on developing hydrate-based technologies for energy storage and carbon sequestration. His research contributions include 8 peer-reviewed journal publications and 2 patents, including the design of a 25 L high-pressure reactor for hydrate studies. He also did microscale studies related to the hydrate formation, which demonstrated the effect of surface wettability. He has also worked on integrating thermodynamic modelling, molecular promoters, and kinetic modelling approaches to advance hydrate-based methane storage and CO2 sequestration. Currently, he is working on estimating the stability of gas hydrates in hydrate reservoirs. He is also interested in swapping the natural gas hydrate reservoirs with carbon dioxide.
