  6. CE 773: Geometric Design and Analysis of High-Speed Roadways

    Geometric design is an integral part of transportation engineering. This is an advance level course, which focuses on the existing research and application in the field of highway geometric design to train students in developing sustainable roadways. The course provides insights on designing geometric features for lateral and longitudinal elements such as cross section details, horizontal curve and vertical curve design, coordination of horizontal and vertical curves, and intersection and interchange configuration development. It also focuses on the alignment development and evaluation based on traffic operations and safety and introduces to the highway design software.

    This course is about various optimization techniques and algorithms used to solve engineering problems.
