Research Interests

Tushar's research focuses on understanding the failure mechanisms of solids with a primary emphasis on environmentally assisted failures, crack anisotropy, and fracture dynamics. He is an expert in phase field theory, finite element modelling and simulations. His present research interests include:

  • Computational mechanics and Fracture mechanics
  • Phase field theory
  • Hydrogen embrittlement of metallic components and joints.
  • Stress corrosion cracking
  • Biodegradation of Mg alloy implants
  • Degradation mechanisms of additively manufactured materials and structures
  • Computational Modelling of Failure of Lithium-ion Batteries.
